The Tokyo Metropolitan Government aims to realize a 'Children First' society by re-evaluating all policies from a child's perspective and comprehensively promoting child-related policies. The 'Tokyo Children's Basic Ordinance,' enacted in 2021, stipulates that the entire society should create an environment where all children can grow up healthy and free with hope for the present and future. It is important to share this philosophy with many citizens, including children. We are now holding the 'FY2026 Tokyo Children's Basic Ordinance Poster Contest' to promote awareness of the ordinance. A unique feature of this project is that children participate actively, from deciding the theme to selecting the winning works. The application period is from June 17 to September 7, 2026. The theme is 'Tokyo: A City Where Children Can Enjoy What They Love.' There are categories for hand-drawn works (lower and upper elementary grades) and digital works. Winning works are planned to be used for wrapping bus designs and exhibited within the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and at international conferences.
