As generative AI permeates society and the economy at an unprecedented speed, fostering human resources capable of utilizing digital technology is becoming increasingly crucial.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education established a generative AI environment (Metropolitan AI) in all metropolitan schools in May last year, promoting initiatives where students utilize generative AI in their learning.
To elevate the level of this learning, we are launching the "Tokyo Metropolitan Schools AI Lab" project, where students in metropolitan schools will take on challenges to solve societal and regional issues using generative AI and other tools.
1. Positioning of the Initiative
Metropolitan schools will develop human resources for digital transformation (DX) and AI transformation (AX) in a layered manner.
- Tokyo Metropolitan Schools AI Lab: An initiative to create products that solve societal and regional issues using generative AI and other tools.
- Metropolitan AI: An initiative to utilize generative AI, such as gaining new perspectives and ideas through dialogue with it.
