Mitsubishi Electric Corporation will start a free service on June 25 providing design and verification data of its Power Conversion System (PCS) inverter prototypes. These prototypes are equipped with the latest 8th generation IGBT modules, specifically the industrial LV100-type 1.2kV IGBT module (rated 1200V/1800A) and the NX-type 1.2kV IGBT module (rated 1200V/1000A). Through technical cooperation with Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), the service offers 3-level inverter design and validation data (such as heat, short-circuit protection, and current balance). With the growing demand for large-capacity PCS in renewable energy systems, designing 3-level inverters has become complex. By sharing component lists, layout schematics, electrical wiring data, and evaluation results, Mitsubishi Electric aims to reduce the design, manufacturing, and verification workloads for customers, helping them select components and significantly shorten development timelines.
