Mitsubishi Electric Acquires Dutch HVAC Sales, Installation, and Maintenance Companies APAC Group and COMPAC Group

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has acquired 100% of APAC Group (headquartered in Utrecht Province, Kingdom of the Netherlands), a Dutch air conditioning sales, installation, and maintenance company and a key distributor for Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling Systems S.p.A. (Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics and IT Cooling Systems, hereinafter MEHITS), and COMPAC Group (headquartered in Utrecht Province, Kingdom of the Netherlands) on July 13, making them wholly owned subsidiaries through MEHITS, a 100% subsidiary. This acquisition aims to meet the growing demand in Europe for data center cooling systems and other related solutions.

This move strengthens Mitsubishi Electric’s one-stop service capability in Europe, integrating equipment sales with installation and maintenance services, and aims to expand its data center cooling systems business across the European market.

Purpose of the Acquisition

In recent years, global demand for data center cooling systems has been rising, and Mitsubishi Electric has positioned this as one of its key business areas. In Europe, in addition to traditional data center hubs such as Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris, and Dublin, new data centers are being developed in Northern and Southern Europe. As a result, demand for data center cooling systems is increasing, and data center operators are increasingly requesting comprehensive services that include not only equipment installation but also ongoing maintenance to ensure stable system operation.

With this acquisition, Mitsubishi Electric will integrate APAC Group, which has extensive experience in the design, sales, installation, and maintenance of cooling systems for data center server rooms, and COMPAC Group, to enhance sales, installation, and maintenance services for applied air conditioning systems used in factories, offices, and commercial facilities.

Going forward, by combining Mitsubishi Electric’s broad product portfolio with the installation and maintenance capabilities of APAC Group and COMPAC Group, the company will strengthen its one-stop service from equipment sales to installation, operation, and maintenance, aiming to expand its data center cooling systems business in Europe.

Furthermore, the company aims to provide comprehensive data center solutions that include utility systems beyond cooling, such as power systems, facility monitoring, and security.
