Maruyama-Kyosai Group's "Kimono Kyosai" will hold a special exhibition, "Meigetsuro Art Gallery ~Unique~," from Friday, July 10, 2026, to Monday, July 13, 2026, at the Rusk Hall on the 6th floor of Rusk Hiratsuka. This special four-day event recreates the world of "Gallery Unique," a renovated Kyoto townhouse, allowing customers in the Kanto region to experience Kyoto's beauty.

Traditional Techniques and Innovation Cultivated in Kyoto

Scope Coco, the company behind the exhibition brand "Meigetsuro (Meigetsuro)," inherits the lineage of the long-established weaving house "Kano Ko" while creating works that fuse traditional techniques with modern design. The "unique" worldview is created through the techniques passed down from founder Kanji Kano and the innovative initiatives of the current president, Keigo Kano.

Hagoromo (Feather Robe)

"Shu-Ha-Ri" is a concept within the spirit of the tea ceremony. "Shu" represents tradition, "Ha" represents innovation, and "Ri" represents originality. Based on classical patterns, this collection expresses distinctiveness in fabric, cutting, and color. It offers kimono styles that exude a slightly different atmosphere and can be shared by parents and children. You can experience its unique lightness, comfort, and the simplicity of its colors and patterns.

Kabukimono (The Dandy)

The new brand "Kabukimono" breaks free from established kimono concepts, offering a new style of kimono that integrates into lifestyles as a fashion item, adding flair to various scenes. It pursues not only visual beauty and design but also emphasizes fabric, patterns, and techniques to elevate the wearer. With a wide range of designs from classical to modern patterns, it aims to build new kimono styles.

Rare Works on Special Display

The venue will feature a special display of the rare "Itōjin Kin Maru Obi Futae Tsura Botan Mon'yo" (Silk Brocade Gold Obi with Double Vine Peony Pattern), produced by Kano Ko. You can also view a variety of other works, including "YOSHIKIMONO," which expresses the world of global artist YOSHIKI.

Hospitality from a Long-Established Kyoto Confectionery

Visitors will be treated to sweets specially made for this exhibition by "Suehiro," a long-established confectionery shop in Kyoto. Alongside appreciating the artworks, you can also enjoy Kyoto's exquisite hospitality.
