Keynote Announcement

At this conference, CEO Manabu Ueda will deliver a keynote address. He will share MODE's initiatives and real-world examples to explain the forefront of on-site DX in an era where AI and IoT are converging, and how physical world data is transformed into value through software.

Speaking Time:

July 31, 2026 (Fri) 9:30 AM - 10:10 AM

Keynote Title:

"Why Software Doesn't Work Well in the Real World: The Design Challenges Faced at the Forefront of On-site DX"

Content:

While expectations for Physical AI are high, many industrial sites face challenges such as "implementation but non-usage" and "tool silos preventing integration." In this lecture, Manabu Ueda, CEO of MODE, a Silicon Valley-based startup that has practiced AI-driven IoT in industrial fields including logistics and construction, will visit Japan to unravel the essence of "the difficulty of handling the physical world with software." Assuming that humans do not act rationally, to what extent should automation be pursued, and where should human judgment be retained? Interspersed with examples of failures, we will explore the conditions for "systems that can continue to be used."

Speaker:
