Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Jotaro Tamura; Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) has announced that the wood chip carrier 'HK DELIGHT,' operated by the company, has been awarded the 2025 'Best Quality Ship Award' by the Japan Federation of Pilots' Associations. This marks the fifth consecutive year that a vessel operated by MOL has received this award. The recognition reflects MOL's ongoing safety measures based on the 'Safety Vision' established in its 'BLUE ACTION 2035' Phase 2 group management plan as a key initiative to strengthen its business foundation.

The 'Best Quality Ship Award' was established in 2003 with the aim of raising awareness of the protection of harbor and marine environments through the safe navigation of vessels. Each year, the Japan Federation of Pilots' Associations selects vessels that are recognized as particularly excellent from among those guided by pilots in pilotage districts across Japan.

In fiscal year 2025, 10 vessels were selected for the award from approximately 24,000 ships that requested pilotage services nationwide, with one of MOL's vessels being among the winners. Many of MOL's managed and operated vessels have received this award in the past. This latest win is the result of a comprehensive evaluation of the vessel's excellent boarding and navigational equipment, safety measures, and the cooperative spirit of the captain and crew toward pilotage operations.

The MOL Group will continue to strive for 'world-class safe operation' and engage in activities that contribute to maritime safety and global environmental preservation as a company that grows synergistically and sustainably with society.
