Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (President: Taro Tamura, Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo) has newly established common standards for onboard IT equipment and system specifications (hereinafter referred to as "the Standards"). The company plans to promote the application of these Standards from the design stage of new vessels and sequentially deploy them to existing vessels in the future. This initiative is part of "DX Action 2.0" under the group's management plan "BLUE ACTION 2035 Phase 2," which involves reviewing and standardizing onboard networks and other systems.

Traditionally, onboard IT equipment and systems varied depending on the type of vessel, shipyard, and ship management company. Consequently, this led to challenges such as the need for pre-implementation surveys for each vessel when introducing new systems, hindering efficient system utilization. By standardizing onboard IT equipment and systems, we will gradually build a foundation that supports AI and digital utilization and robust security onboard. Through AI and digital utilization and robust security supported by the introduction of these Standards, we will enhance safe operations by leveraging ship data and improve the working environment for seafarers. Through this initiative, we aim to lead the advancement of the onboard digital environment in the shipping industry and work towards sustainable growth and increased corporate value.
