[Hotel Indigo Nagasaki Glover Street] Donates Senbazuru Folded with Guests to Peace Park

Hotel Indigo Nagasaki Glover Street (Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture, General Manager Hideyuki Niwa), a luxury lifestyle hotel breathing new life into a traditional building over 120 years old, will begin creating senbazuru (one thousand origami cranes) folded by guests and staff together from Monday, July 6, 2026, as a hotel inheriting the history of the atomic bombing.

This initiative was proposed by young staff members who participated in an international forum aimed at fostering "Peace-preneurs," a combination of Peace and Entrepreneurship. Through learning about peace and experiencing diverse values at the forum, they realized the importance of connecting aspirations for peace from Nagasaki to the future. They thought that as a hotel that has inherited a historic building and walks alongside the Nagasaki neighborhood, they could share this sentiment with their guests, leading to the planning of this initiative.

In this initiative, origami paper will be provided at the main building's first-floor front desk, and guests are welcome to participate freely. The senbazuru folded by guests and staff is scheduled to be donated to Peace Park on Friday, August 7, 2026, in conjunction with the "Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Victims Memorial Peace Ceremony."

Through this initiative, Hotel Indigo Nagasaki Glover Street aims to create an opportunity for guests to reflect on Nagasaki's history and peace, and to contribute to the inheritance of the region's peace culture.
