Minami Nippon Transport & Warehouse Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nakano-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Keiichiro Osonoi; hereinafter “the company”), a specialist in chilled and frozen food transportation, announces the acceptance of six Vietnamese university students as interns for its 7th cohort, along with the implementation of their onboarding ceremony and orientation on Tuesday, July 7.

The six interns are third-year male and female students from the Logistics Department at Thuyloi University in Vietnam. Over the next year, they will participate in a comprehensive internship program at the company’s Saitama Logistics Center, including on-site training in frozen and chilled logistics operations, as well as classroom instruction on the fundamentals of Japanese logistics. Additionally, they will study the Japanese language and experience Japanese culture and society.

The onboarding ceremony, held at the company’s Toda headquarters, began with self-introductions by the interns. Though visibly nervous, each expressed a strong determination to learn advanced logistics practices in Japan. Following this, President Keiichiro Osonoi delivered a welcome speech, outlining the company’s business overview and sharing a personal message he has held since becoming president: “You may feel uncertain facing so many new things, but it’s important to start with what you can do. By mastering those tasks, you’ll develop unique capabilities that become your purpose.”

Afterward, four internal instructors provided detailed explanations on Japan’s logistics landscape, the company’s mission, strengths, overseas expansion strategy, and employment regulations. All interns listened attentively with serious expressions. Following the lectures, they moved to the Saitama Logistics Center for hands-on training, where they received guidance on workplace safety, facility operations, and other key points, officially launching their one-year internship.

In recent years, the company has been actively strengthening its overseas operations, recognizing global talent development as a critical priority. Since 2022, it has welcomed foreign interns as part of its broader recruitment and talent development initiatives. With 34 interns hosted previously, the addition of this 7th cohort brings the total to 40.

Vietnam has recently gained attention not only as a manufacturing hub but also as a growing consumer market, experiencing rapid economic growth, increased trade, and rising demand for logistics services. In response to this trend, the company established MTLS VIETNAM LIMITED COMPANY (Headquarters: Hanoi) in 2020 in partnership with Applize Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Katsuhide Iwahori), a joint venture dedicated to logistics talent development. This initiative has been well-received, enabling the company to recruit interns from multiple universities.

Moving forward, the company will continue to foster an inclusive and vibrant workplace environment while actively investing in talent development to support its global expansion.
