Nagasaki Sash Industry Establishes SoraWing Robotics for High-Rise Window Cleaning Robot Business

Nagasaki Sash Industry (Hasami, Nagasaki) established SoraWing Robotics Co., Ltd. on May 30, 2026 to commercialize the SoraWing high-rise window cleaning robot. The subsidiary, headquartered in Fukuoka City, is led by CEO Takuya Ikematsu with Chairman Shoichi Tanaka. The robot was developed through industry-academia collaboration with Nagasaki University, combining proprietary parallel-wire control technology with AI-based posture stabilization to improve safety and reduce labor needs in high-altitude work. Rising demand from increasing high-rise buildings, combined with an aging workforce and labor shortages in gondola and swing-stage cleaning, drove the venture. SoraWing Robotics plans to offer cleaning services, automation solutions, and expand into solar panels, bridge inspection, and large facility maintenance. The company will first build operational expertise domestically before pursuing nationwide and international expansion. Proof-of-concept tests have been conducted at facilities in Nagasaki and Tokyo.
