Why do we sweat? It's actually a vital mechanism for protecting our bodies.

During the hot season, we sweat almost every day. When our body temperature rises, we naturally start to sweat. But why do we sweat in the first place?

In reality, sweat plays an important role in regulating body temperature. When body temperature rises, sweat is produced, and as it evaporates on the skin's surface, it takes away body heat, cooling us down. In other words, sweat is essential for preventing our body temperature from rising too high.

On the other hand, when we sweat, we often worry about odor, stickiness, and sweat stains. Especially when going out on a hot day, many people probably feel like they want to "suppress sweat as much as possible" and "stay comfortable."

NaviT conducted a survey on "Sweat Countermeasures" targeting 1,000 monitor members, primarily housewives nationwide.

・Survey Period: April 2026 ・Survey Organization: NaviT Inc. ・Target Audience: Men and women aged 20s to 80s ・Valid Responses: 1,000 people ・Survey Method: Web

The most concerning body part when sweating is "underarms."

【Survey】 What is the body part you are most concerned about when you sweat? (Target: 1,000 people)

Regarding the body part most concerning when sweating, "underarms" accounted for 51.3%, followed by "face/forehead" at 24.6%, and "back" at 5.9%. The results showed that over half of the respondents were concerned about their underarms, where unpleasant odors tend to occur easily when sweating.

Sweat countermeasures when going out include "wet wipes" and "parasols."

【Survey】 What measures do you take to combat sweat when going out? (Multiple selections allowed) *Number of responses: 2,625

When asked "What measures do you take to combat sweat when going out?" with multiple selections allowed, "wet wipes" were chosen by 387 people, "parasols" by 387 people, and "antiperspirant spray/mist" by 372 people. It appears that many people use wet wipes and parasols.

When choosing antiperspirants, "duration of effect" is prioritized.

【Survey】 When choosing antiperspirants, what do you prioritize? (Multiple selections allowed) *Number of responses: 2,520

When asked "When choosing antiperspirants, what do you prioritize?" with multiple selections allowed, "duration of effect" was chosen by 361 people, "scent" by 344 people, and "price" by 279 people. It is ideal for the effect to last for a long time, isn't it?

The most concerning issue related to sweat is "odor."

【Survey】 What is the most concerning issue related to sweat? (Target: 1,000 people)

Regarding the question "What is the most concerning issue related to sweat?", "odor" accounted for 35.2%, followed by "discomfort due to stickiness" at 26.2%, and "sweat stains/yellowing on clothes" at 14.0%. It seems that odor is a major concern for many people.

What are everyone's recommended sweat countermeasure items? Real voices shared.

This time, we conducted a free-response question asking, "Please tell us if you have any recommended sweat countermeasure items." We are sharing some responses as they were originally written.

"Since I'm concerned about underarm sweat, innerwear with underarm sweat pads is essential."

"I think applying a cold pack to my neck helps reduce facial sweat."

"Parasols are great. I was surprised how much difference it makes just by not being directly exposed to the sun."

"When I go out, I bring a frozen pouch drink and use it on my neck or other areas when I feel hot. It's convenient because I can drink it cold at the end."

In this survey, many recommendations for "wet wipes" and "antiperspirant sheets" were received. On the other hand, many people also employed methods to reduce sweating by cooling the body, such as using parasols, portable fans, and cold packs.

Furthermore, some people take measures through their clothing, such as choosing quick-drying innerwear, sweat-absorbing pads, or clothes that don't show sweat stains easily. It seems people are implementing their own suitable sweat countermeasures by effectively incorporating familiar items.

Spend the hot summer comfortably with sweat countermeasures that suit you!

Sweat plays an important role in preventing body temperature from rising and maintaining the body at an appropriate temperature. Therefore, sweating itself is by no means a bad thing. However, leaving sweat as it is can lead to odor, stickiness, and discomfort, so it's important to take care of it frequently.

In this survey, many people were seen utilizing easily accessible items such as wet wipes, antiperspirants, parasols, and portable fans. Additionally, there's a growing trend of using cooling sheets, neck coolers, and quick-drying innerwear not just after sweating, but also to alleviate the heat itself.

Everyone's sweat concerns and points of interest are different. Why not try incorporating items and methods that suit you this summer to get through the hot season as comfortably as possible?
