Needswell Inc. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hajime Matsuoka) announces its participation in the AI talent development program "AI-DLC Unicorn Gym," hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS).
1. Background
In recent years, with the advancement of AI and machine learning technologies, the source of competitive advantage for companies has shifted to how AI technologies can be incorporated and implemented in business and product development. Against this backdrop, our group is researching and promoting a development system (AI-driven development) that assumes the use of AI technology, and positions talent development and the advancement of technical capabilities as important measures.
2. Details
This program, "AI-DLC Unicorn Gym," aims to acquire practical system development methods utilizing generative AI, and allows participants to learn design, development, and operation integrally while leveraging AWS's cloud environment. AWS's "AI-DLC (AI-Driven Development Lifecycle)" refers to a development approach that rebuilds processes with generative AI at the core throughout the entire system development lifecycle, from requirements definition to design, implementation, testing, and operation/maintenance. Based on this concept, participating companies will consider AI utilization and engage in development practice using real-world tasks as a base, aiming to improve implementation capabilities.
In our group, a total of 11 members belonging to the DX Group and AI Group participated in this program, which was held in June 2026. By bringing in products that we are actually planning to build as themes, we practiced an AI-led development process from requirements definition to design, implementation, and deployment. In addition to acquiring systematic knowledge of AI technology, we have accumulated practical knowledge regarding cloud-native development methods and AI utilization.
We believe that the insights gained in the design process of AI introduction starting from business challenges and the improvement of development productivity using AI will contribute to the promotion of future AI-driven development.
3. Future Initiatives
Moving forward, we will deploy the knowledge and technologies gained through this initiative into our group's business and service development, leading to the creation of added value based on AI and strengthening our competitiveness. Furthermore, by further promoting the in-house development of AI technology, we aim to achieve the advancement of our development system and sustainable growth.
