Solar Power Generation Facility Operational at China Xiamen Base

Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, President: Satoru Kishimoto, hereinafter referred to as NEG) has installed a solar power generation facility on the rooftop of its subsidiary, Electric Glass (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. (Location: Xiamen City, Fujian Province, China, General Manager: Takahide Fujii, hereinafter referred to as EGX), and commenced operations in April 2026.

The maximum output of this facility is approximately 5.8 MWp (※), and the annual power generation volume corresponds to a few percent of EGX's electricity consumption. Furthermore, CO2 emissions are expected to be reduced by approximately 2,350 tons annually.

※ MWp (Megawatt peak): Watt peak is an indicator of rated output for power generation methods where output fluctuates. It indicates the maximum output that the facility can theoretically achieve under certain standard conditions.

Background of Introduction and Future Initiatives

The NEG Group is working to reduce CO2 emissions at its domestic and international bases with the aim of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

Planned initiatives for solar power generation facilities are also being systematically implemented at domestic and international bases, and the introduction of this facility at EGX is part of those efforts. By self-consuming the generated electricity, we aim to promote energy conservation and reduce CO2 emissions.
