Background of the Outdoor Carbon Monoxide Alarm 'COALAN'

Combustion appliances such as stoves and cooktops may produce carbon monoxide (CO) due to incomplete combustion in enclosed spaces like tents or campers.

Carbon monoxide is colorless and odorless, making it undetectable by human senses. Even low concentrations, when inhaled over long periods, can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning (CO poisoning), causing symptoms such as headaches, nausea, and dizziness, and in severe cases, death.

In response, Shin-Cosmos Electric developed and launched the 'Outdoor Carbon Monoxide Alarm COALAN CL-715' in December 2023 for safe use in outdoor environments.

Now, building on the success and full sales of the previous model 'CL-715,' the company introduces the enhanced 'CL-725' as a refreshed model on Makuake, further improving usability for outdoor activities.

COALAN operates in temperatures from -10°C to 50°C and humidity levels from 15% to 90% RH. It is resistant to temperature fluctuations and moisture, making it reliable for winter camping and car camping.

With an IP54-equivalent protection rating, it features dustproof and splash-proof construction. It performs well in sandy or wet environments and has passed manufacturer-standard shock and vibration resistance tests. A rubber guard is included to absorb impact in case of drops.

3. 6-Year Battery Life with No Replacement Needed

Powered by a lithium battery, it outperforms alkaline batteries in low temperatures and offers long life. It can be used for up to 6 years* without the need for battery replacement or charging.
