On May 28, 2026, NewNorm Design announced the launch of 'Circle,' a new feature for its sustainable construction material platform, 'matinno,' designed to visualize the flow of reusable materials. Circle is a map-based service that displays the locations of surplus materials, stagnant inventory, and used construction materials, connecting them with designers and companies in need. The goal is to circulate materials generated from demolition, renovation, exhibitions, and events into new projects. A key feature is the ability to grasp fragmented material information across projects based on location data. In the architecture and design industry, many materials and fixtures are discarded in short periods due to renovations, demolitions, and events, yet there is a lack of information infrastructure for designers to efficiently find reusable materials. Consequently, usable materials are often discarded instead of being circulated. Features of 'Circle' include visualizing material locations on a map, listing surplus and used materials, promoting cross-project reuse by connecting designers, manufacturers, and contractors, and providing real-time information on materials before they are discarded. This provides new options for material procurement while supporting waste reduction and resource circulation. NND Representative Farah Taraiyeh stated, 'Materials used in architecture do not lose their value the moment a project ends. Circle is a mechanism to connect unused materials and surplus inventory to the next design or project. By visualizing the flow of materials, we want to turn waste into opportunities and make circular construction easier to implement.' New users can access a two-week free trial. NewNorm Design was established in 2021 as an architectural design firm proposing sustainable designs, and matinno is a platform aimed at reducing CO2 throughout the building lifecycle.
