Recent reports from foreign media indicate that NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has observed a fundamental shift in the way software engineers at his company work, with AI agents emerging as a new skill. In an interview with Business Insider (BI), Huang stated, "Every one of my software engineers now prefers to build AI agents rather than just write Python code." This indicates that AI agents have become a key emerging skill. Huang explained that AI technology has significantly reduced traditional coding work for engineers, allowing them to delegate tedious, repetitive tasks to agents. As a result, engineers' roles have evolved from "typists" to higher-level designers, focusing on building agents, designing performance benchmark tests, and setting up security protection mechanisms. Huang emphasized that "this work requires imagination, creativity, and deep technical expertise." In response to concerns that AI will replace white-collar jobs, Huang holds a different view. He refutes the notion that AI will only eliminate jobs, arguing that implementing AI in real-world applications requires extensive preparatory work, which in turn creates new positions. In a media interview in May, Huang also noted, "AI is creating many jobs, and my engineers love this." He predicted that AI would be the best opportunity for the U.S. to achieve "reindustrialization," bringing a large number of employment opportunities. Compared to recent warnings from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and Amazon CEO Andy Jassy about AI's impact on the job market, Huang's attitude is relatively optimistic. Huang revealed that NVIDIA will deploy agents on a large scale across various departments in the future to boost productivity. These agents, which can autonomously break down tasks and achieve goals, are the core engines driving future organizational transformation.
