According to sources, Trump Media Technology Group is in talks to sell an application programming interface (API) to Wall Street financial institutions, charging $100,000 per month to allow these institutions to access posts by former U.S. President Donald Trump and others on Truth Social milliseconds ahead of the general public.
Truth Social is an asset owned by Trump Media Technology Group, which is controlled by the Trump family. The platform announced the sales plan on the 16th, aiming to provide target customers with the fastest access to posts from the 10 most influential accounts, though it did not disclose specific pricing.
As reported by the UK's Financial Times on the 17th, sources revealed that Trump Media Technology Group has quoted a monthly fee of $100,000 while negotiating with potential buyers of its new product, 'Truth API.' Reuters also reported that the company is offering a discounted plan: a three-year contract would reduce the monthly fee to $60,000.
'Truth API' is scheduled for official launch in August and is primarily aimed at high-frequency and algorithmic trading firms. Kevin McHale, interim CEO of Trump Media Technology Group, said that selling near-instant access to presidential posts will advance the company's 'monetization of proprietary assets' strategy.
Trump has approximately 12.9 million followers on Truth Social and sometimes posts over 100 times a day. His previous posts on topics such as Iran, tariffs, and the Federal Reserve (Fed) have repeatedly triggered market volatility.
In March, 15 minutes before Trump announced via Truth Social that negotiations with Iran were 'productive,' traders placed $500 million in 'bets' on the oil market. The post subsequently caused crude oil prices to plummet and triggered price fluctuations in other assets.
