Datron Optoelectronics (8045-TW), a networking equipment manufacturer, is benefiting from the accelerated upgrade of broadband infrastructure in the North American market and the successive implementation of defense projects. Despite overall market volatility, the stock opened strong today, showing robust buying momentum, quickly rising to hit the daily limit-up price of NT$61.3, recovering losses from the previous trading session.
As a core partner to major U.S. cable operators such as Comcast and Charter, Datron's ruggedized outdoor broadband amplifiers, optical node equipment, and DSIM smart modules perfectly align with the equipment replacement demand under the U.S. non-red supply chain policy. This alignment is expected to gradually heat up the company's overall operations starting in the third quarter.
In terms of positioning within the defense IoT and military-grade market, Datron consistently allocates 7% to 9% of its annual revenue to R&D, actively expanding defense projects and drone technology applications. The company has partnered with Markforged, a U.S. defense supply chain enterprise, to build an advanced manufacturing center for unmanned vehicles. Combined with its self-developed high-frequency, low-latency drone module integrated with low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite communications, this initiative is expected to begin contributing to revenue in the second half of the year.
