Fidelity International has released its latest global investor research, revealing that despite ongoing market volatility, investors across the Asia-Pacific region continue to show strong confidence in digital assets. Nearly one-quarter of respondents plan to increase their allocation to cryptocurrencies and other digital assets within the next 12 months, indicating that digital assets are gradually being integrated into long-term core investment strategies.

Despite persistent financial market fluctuations, Fidelity International's latest global investor research shows that Asia-Pacific investors remain highly confident in digital assets. A full 23% of respondents intend to increase their digital asset holdings over the next 12 months, far exceeding the 3% who plan to reduce exposure. Younger investors are the most enthusiastic, with 34% of those aged 18 to 34 planning to increase holdings, compared to only 4% who intend to decrease.

FOMO (fear of missing out) is particularly pronounced among younger investors, highlighting the new generation's high acceptance of digital finance. In terms of investment motivations, market focus is shifting from short-term price movements to long-term investment value. Among Asia-Pacific investors who have already invested in or are open to investing in cryptocurrencies, 44% cite strong long-term growth potential as the primary reason for considering investment. Another 36% view it as a short-term profit opportunity, while 27% appreciate its potential to deliver returns with low correlation to traditional markets. Moreover, over half of respondents indicated that clearer regulation would significantly boost their investment willingness.

In terms of regional performance, Taiwanese investors stand out. The survey shows that Taiwan ranks third in both current ownership and future allocation intent, trailing only Australia and Singapore. Further analysis of Taiwanese investors' motivations reveals the top three factors: belief in strong long-term growth potential, viewing it as a short-term profit opportunity, and the desire to benefit from underlying technological advancements.

Giselle Lai, Fidelity International's Head of Digital Asset Strategy for Asia-Pacific, stated, 'As the market matures, investors are no longer viewing Bitcoin solely as a speculative tool, but as a long-term allocation option within diversified portfolios. With the global cryptocurrency market cap continuing to expand, increasing institutional participation, and improving infrastructure, digital assets are becoming an indispensable component of the global financial system.'
