Taiwan Railways Administration announced today (22) that the commercial area within Taipei Main Station will adjust its operating hours due to the transition of management from Micro Fortune Group to Shin Kong Mitsukoshi. On this Friday, July 24, the mall will cease operations at 15:00, with full normal operations resuming on Saturday, July 25.

Taiwan Railways Company stated that the operational transition primarily affects the ROT-operated commercial spaces inside Taipei Station. Train operations and passenger entry/exit remain completely unaffected and normal.

In April 2026, Taiwan Railways announced that Shin Kong Mitsukoshi had been selected as the top-ranked applicant. Shin Kong Mitsukoshi confirmed that the investment agreement for the Taipei Main Station Building ROT project was officially signed and notarized on July 3, with operations set to commence on July 25.

The transition on July 24 will affect specialty stores on the 1st and 2nd floors above ground and the 1st basement floor, including gift shops, dining outlets, retail stores, theme restaurants, and food courts. These stores will cease operations starting at 15:00 on July 24 to conduct handover inventory checks.

However, four FamilyMart stores (5903-TW), the TRA Bento Shop, TRA Dream Factory, EzTravel, Lion Travel (2731-TW), and Massage Xiao Zhan on the 1st floor will continue normal operations. Passengers are encouraged to utilize these services. All retail counters, restaurants, and gift shops across all floors will resume their regular operating hours on July 25.

Taiwan Railways reminds travelers planning to dine or purchase souvenirs at Taipei Main Station on the afternoon or evening of July 24 to be mindful of the adjusted hours and plan accordingly. The company apologizes for any inconvenience caused during the transition period and thanks the public for their understanding. Moving forward, Taiwan Railways will continue to provide high-quality transportation services.
