Wistron (3231-TW) officially inaugurated its D1 AI Smart Factory in Dallas, Texas, on May 21 Central U.S. time (May 22 Taiwan time), announcing the birth of the first NVIDIA GB300 computing board produced in the United States. This milestone propelled Wistron's stock to surge and hit the daily trading limit at NT$164 on May 22, with over 31,000 buy orders queued and trading volume exceeding 44,000 shares.

The Dallas D1 facility, built at an investment of nearly $700 million, spans approximately 324,000 square meters. The factory leverages NVIDIA’s accelerated computing technologies and integrates open frontier models such as Nemotron and Cosmos, along with Omniverse and Metropolis, to optimize plant design, production workflows, and operational efficiency through digital twin technology.

Wistron emphasized that manufacturing at the Texas plant goes beyond traditional production, representing a highly integrated, advanced, and high-tech smart manufacturing model. Mass production of the NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell Superchip has already commenced, with plans to produce the NVIDIA Vera Rubin Superchip in the future. Over the coming years, this site is expected to become a pivotal hub for AI infrastructure development in the United States.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang personally attended the opening ceremony, stating that the world is experiencing the largest wave of AI infrastructure construction in history. He highlighted that AI factories will be the core of the next industrial revolution, and their construction must itself be powered by AI. Huang praised the collaboration between NVIDIA and Wistron in bringing AI-driven, digital twin-powered advanced manufacturing to the U.S., fostering next-generation skilled talent and establishing a new paradigm for smart manufacturing in the AI era.

In the stock market, Wistron opened at NT$154 in early trading and quickly rose to the upper limit of NT$164, reclaiming all moving averages. Over 31,000 buy orders remained queued, with trading volume surpassing 44,000 shares. Institutional investors, including the three major foreign and domestic investment groups, have been net buyers for two consecutive trading days, accumulating a total of 19,000 shares.
