Roundhill Memory ETF (DRAM-US), which focuses on the global memory supply chain, has continued its strong performance recently, rising over 8% in the past five trading days. This surge is primarily driven by the ongoing increase in AI server demand and the strong performance of major holdings such as Micron (MU-US) and SK Hynix. While the market broadly remains optimistic about the long-term growth trend of AI memory demand, concerns are rising about short-term volatility risks following the rapid price appreciation.

The DRAM ETF specifically invests in companies across the memory industry chain, including DRAM, High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), NAND Flash, and SSDs, rather than covering the broader semiconductor sector. This allows for a more concentrated portfolio focused on the global memory market.

Since its launch in April this year, the DRAM ETF has delivered a cumulative gain of over 110%, making it one of the most standout thematic ETFs amid the AI infrastructure investment boom.

The ETF carries a management fee of 0.65% and currently holds just 16 stocks, with total assets under management of approximately $23.03 billion. Its highly concentrated investment strategy enables investors to directly participate in the growth of the global memory chip industry.

Key holdings include leading global memory and storage equipment manufacturers such as Micron (MU-US), SK Hynix, SanDisk (SNDK-US), Samsung Electronics, Seagate Technology (STX-US), and Western Digital (WDC-US).

Recent ETF performance has been largely driven by the continued rebound in Micron and SK Hynix share prices. The market believes that with the rapid development of AI large language models and ongoing construction of AI data centers by global tech firms, demand for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) and DRAM will remain strongly growing, supporting continued improvement in the overall memory industry outlook.

Analysts point out that memory chips have become an essential component in AI servers. As major tech companies continue to increase investments in AI infrastructure, this demand is expected to sustain the long-term performance of the DRAM ETF.

However, the market also warns that semiconductor and memory stocks have already seen significant gains, with valuations of some individual stocks clearly elevated. Investors should remain cautious about short-term correction risks.

Analysis suggests that if future AI capital expenditures slow down or overall market risk appetite declines, memory stocks and the DRAM ETF could experience greater volatility. Nevertheless, as long as the long-term trend of expanding AI servers, high-bandwidth memory, and data centers remains unchanged, the market broadly maintains a positive outlook for the medium- to long-term growth prospects of the memory industry.
