Despite recent market volatility, investor enthusiasm for active ETFs continues to grow. Last week’s popularity rankings for active ETFs show Taiwan equity-linked funds dominating, capturing the top five spots in weekly new investor additions. Notably, Uni-President Active Upgrade 50 (00403A-TW) emerged as the most popular, adding 25,000 new investors in a single week and claiming the top spot.

According to CMoney data as of July 24, the top five active ETFs by weekly new investor count were: Uni-President Active Upgrade 50 (00403A-TW), Fu-Hua Active Future 50 (00991A-TW), CTBC Active Taiwan Income (00406A-TW), Uni-President Active Taiwan Growth (00981A-TW), and Fubon Active Taiwan Dragon (00405A-TW), with new investor additions of 25,100, 12,100, 10,600, 6,500, and 3,700 respectively.

Uni-President Active Upgrade 50 not only led the weekly rankings but has also seen three consecutive weeks of growth in investor numbers. CMoney data shows its total number of investors has reached 1.0226 million, re-entering the million-investor club. Its popularity remains strong despite market fluctuations, even intensifying during downturns.

Looking ahead, Uni-President Asset Management’s research team notes that recent Taiwan stock market volatility stems from valuation corrections, geopolitical risks, and tech stock deleveraging. However, global equity markets remain fundamentally supported, indicating that pullbacks reflect capital and valuation adjustments, not a reversal in fundamentals. The team expects Taiwan stocks to trade sideways in the short term, but the long-term AI trend remains intact. Investors are advised to monitor corporate earnings, cloud providers’ capital expenditures, and cash flow trends, and to selectively accumulate high-quality assets on dips.
