IC packaging and testing company Silicon Integrated Grating (6257-TW) announced on the 27th that its subsidiary, Silicon United Testing, has approved an additional capital expenditure of NT$2 billion during today's board meeting. This move aims to meet the capacity expansion needs of AI customers over the next two years.

Silicon Integrated Grating stated that the primary purpose of this additional investment is to fulfill the production capacity requirements of a major overseas U.S.-based CPU/GPU design company. The funds will be allocated toward purchasing machinery and upgrading cleanroom facilities. This expansion is expected not only to increase the subsidiary's operational scale but also to alleviate the tight production capacity constraints currently faced by the parent company.

The renovation of the cleanroom at the Hukou plant, newly acquired in February 2026, has progressed smoothly, with all related production capacity already fully reserved by a major overseas client. As advanced process equipment arrives, some production lines have already entered mass production since July.

Additionally, construction of the new high-tech facility in Zhudong Zhongxing is ahead of schedule, with completion expected in the fourth quarter of 2026 and mass production set to begin in the first quarter of 2027. With this expanded capital expenditure by its subsidiary, Silicon Integrated Grating is actively positioning itself to capitalize on the growing wave of AI-related semiconductor demand, expressing optimism about future semiconductor market prospects and revenue outlook.
