Samsung Electro-Mechanics has recently notified its customers that, due to sustained demand growth in the global electronics industry, supply chain pressures have exceeded the company's ability to absorb costs, and it will raise prices on multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) products by up to 30%, effective August 1.
The company stated that global electronics demand has seen structural and significant growth over the past several months. Although Samsung Electro-Mechanics has continuously invested resources to improve manufacturing efficiency and expand production capacity to meet market demand, the pressure across the supply chain has now surpassed what the company can internally manage.
To maintain product quality and ensure stable supply, Samsung Electro-Mechanics has decided to adjust the selling prices of certain products. This price adjustment applies to all MLCC products under the Samsung Electro-Mechanics Markup Business Code, with a uniform 30% increase over current pricing. All shipments on or after August 1, 2024, will be subject to the new prices.
In its notification, Samsung Electro-Mechanics emphasized that this price adjustment is an unavoidable measure and expressed sincere gratitude for customers' understanding and cooperation. The company also committed to continuing to provide high-quality products and fully supporting its customers' business development moving forward.
