Dada Broadband (7901-TW) announced its H1 financial report today, reporting cumulative revenue of NT$466 million and net profit of NT$155 million for the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 23.74%, with earnings per share (EPS) of NT$2.59. Dada Broadband stated that profitability has significantly improved, driven by high-margin high-speed products and effective management of ISP traffic costs.

Dada Broadband's cumulative revenue for H1 2024 reached NT$466 million, up 3.78% year-on-year; gross margin was 56.22%, up 0.54 percentage points from the previous year; operating margin was 32.19%, down 0.11 percentage points year-on-year; net profit after tax was NT$155 million, up 23.74% year-on-year, with EPS at NT$2.59.

As of the first half, Dada Broadband had 188,400 subscribers. With steady growth in demand for video streaming and smart homes, the mainstream home broadband subscription has shifted toward 500M. By the end of Q2, users on 360M and higher-speed plans reached 93,000, accounting for 49.3% of total subscribers, of which over 42,000 users were on 500M and above plans, representing 22.3%.

Chairman Chang Ming-Chih stated that Dada Broadband has already deployed edge computing infrastructure. By building edge IDC nodes, the company can save over 30% of backbone network bandwidth and reduce transmission latency from the traditional 50–100 milliseconds to under 5 milliseconds.

Additionally, to support the massive bidirectional interaction demands of future AI applications, Dada Broadband plans to launch its '10G PON' broadband service in October this year. The next-generation architecture will use WDM wavelength separation technology to enable three generations—GPON, 10G PON, and 50G PON—to coexist on a single fiber with multiple wavelengths. Users can upgrade to 10G symmetric bandwidth without replacing existing fiber lines, comprehensively optimizing connectivity experiences for homes, businesses, and smart cities.
