Taiwan's stock market witnessed an epic super rebound today (31), as deeply oversold optical communication stocks joined the broad market recovery, sounding the charge for a major comeback. Driven by the AI wave, data center capacity is expanding dramatically, increasing demand for massive data transmission. With NVIDIA's next-generation AI server platform, Vera Rubin, set to enter full-scale mass production starting July 2026, optical communication 'golden girl' stocks such as Lian-Ya (3081-TW) and Guang-Sheng (6442-TW) surged to their daily trading limits immediately after market open. Other stocks including Guang-Huan (3234-TW), Qian-Ding (4908-TW), Shang-Quan (3363-TW), Lian-Jun (3450-TW), Bo-Ruo-Wei (3163-TW), Tong-Xin (6426-TW), Zhong-Da-KY (4977-TW), and Dong-Dian Optoelectronics (6588-TW) also successively hit their upper limits during trading. Huaxing Light (4979-TW) and Lide Optoelectronics (7717-TW)-KY saw gains of 7-8%.

U.S. optical communication manufacturers also rallied collectively last night. Lumentum surged over 15%, Coherent rose 12.16%, and the smaller-cap AAOI posted the strongest gain at 17.76%.

Analysts noted that silicon photonics-related stocks have recently fallen more than 40%. The market anticipates a significant rebound in demand for high-speed optical transmission, benefiting optical module makers, silicon photonics firms, and the high-speed optical communication supply chain. As the market rebounds, capital is flooding into these sectors, though analysts warn investors to avoid chasing stocks at high prices.

Recent market reports indicate that NVIDIA is evaluating the acquisition of long-haul dark fiber assets in the U.S. to build its own high-speed network infrastructure, aiming to solve the data transmission bottleneck in the AI era. In response, financial institutions stated that if such initiatives materialize, they would not only boost demand for optical communication modules and high-speed transmission equipment but also accelerate the commercialization of silicon photonics technology, further expanding business opportunities for optical communication manufacturers.
