Century Wind Power (2072-TW) continues to benefit as offshore wind farms Phases 3-1 and 3-2 enter their peak construction phase. Phase 3-3 is also approaching vendor selection, with plans set to launch deepwater floating offshore wind power projects. Century Wind Power stands a strong chance of entering this market, and its operations are expected to grow steadily from this year through 2029. This outlook has driven Century Wind Power’s stock to rise over 7% this week despite broader market volatility, reclaiming the 5-day moving average.

This week, Taiwan’s stock market experienced sharp declines followed by rebounds, yet Century Wind Power remained relatively stable, posting a weekly gain of 7.69%. On Friday (31st), shares surged as high as NT$160 before closing at NT$154, successfully recovering the 5-day line. However, the three major institutional investors showed limited activity this week, net buying only 33 shares.

Riding the wave of domestic localization in offshore wind projects 3-1 and 3-2, Century Wind Power expects overall wind farm construction to continue through 2029, ensuring sustained benefits. Phase 3-3 is expected to complete vendor selection this year, with grid connection scheduled between 2030 and 2031. While continuing to focus on demand for substructures, Chairman Lai Wen-hsiang revealed that Century Wind Power also has the opportunity to enter the floating platform business.

Lai Wen-hsiang emphasized that Taiwan must push forward with floating platforms. Given the limited installed capacity, he urged the government to initiate early planning, accelerate promotion, increase feed-in tariffs, and launch demonstration wind farms promptly to prevent industry players from being caught off guard by 2035.

Lai further noted that Century Wind Power will participate in floating platform development. Although designs have not yet been finalized, international case studies indicate that floating platforms require 4,000 to 5,000 tons more steel than fixed-bottom structures—though exact amounts depend on site conditions and turbine size.

In June, Century Wind Power reported revenue of NT$1.718 billion, up 11.41% month-on-month and 101% year-on-year. Cumulative revenue for the first half of the year reached NT$8.846 billion, representing a 63.32% increase compared to the same period last year.
