Hotai Motor (2207-TW), the leading automotive distributor in Taiwan, is experiencing strong sales from its newly launched TOYOTA RAV4. Additionally, LEXUS sales volumes are beginning to recover, and the consolidation of a new commercial vehicle business in Japan has started contributing to revenues. Analysts expect these multiple positive factors to drive continued profit recovery. This week, the company's stock price surged over 13% against the broader market trend, reaching a high of NT$573—the highest level since March.
Analysts point out that the new RAV4's popularity has driven TOYOTA's second-quarter sales up 14.4% year-on-year. Meanwhile, LEXUS monthly sales have returned to the 2024 average level, achieving 7.1% quarter-on-quarter growth, supporting overall profit improvement.
Notably, Hotai Motor has stated that sales momentum in the second half of the year will outperform the first half. Combined with the wealth effect from rising stock markets, analysts are optimistic about achieving full-year sales targets.
On another front, the Japanese commercial vehicle distribution business acquired by Hotai Motor was consolidated into its financials starting in April, providing additional revenue and profit momentum.
