Taiwan's stock market continued to fluctuate today (4th), dropping nearly 500 points in early trading and briefly falling below the 43,000 level. The market then rebounded, rising as high as 43,912.77 points, resulting in an intraday swing of over 1,000 points. However, it turned negative again later in the session, closing down 25.75 points, or 0.06%, managing to hold above 43,000 but failing to reclaim the monthly moving average line. Trading volume returned to the trillion level, reaching 1.04 trillion.

Analyzing the trading activities of the three major institutional investors today: foreign investors sold 573 million, proprietary traders sold 1.9428 billion, while trust funds bought 2.527 billion, resulting in a combined net buy of 109 million.

The significant buying by trust funds helped stabilize the market despite foreign outflows and domestic dealer selling. The rebound during midday trading reflected strong institutional accumulation, particularly by domestic funds positioning for long-term gains. However, the failure to close above the monthly line suggests ongoing market caution and technical resistance. The trillion-level turnover indicates sustained market liquidity and investor engagement, even amid volatility.
