South Korean President Lee Jae-myung stated on Tuesday (4th) during policy briefing sessions with multiple government agencies that the large-scale transformation driven by AI is reshaping the global industrial landscape, stressing the need for bold and swift investments to respond to this shift.

Lee said, "The world today is undergoing major changes, and industrial structures are being reorganized around AI. In such an era, we need bold decisions and investments, coupled with swift action."

He emphasized the importance of establishing South Korea's own competitive advantages, stating, "The government's responsibility is to assess development trends, plan for the long-term future, and strengthen the foundation for innovation."

He also pointed out that securing stable industrial growth potential and building a robust energy security system are key to creating a nation resilient to external shocks.

Specifically, he warned against over-reliance on specific countries or single markets, urging the government to continuously work toward diversifying export markets and supply chains.

During another meeting where he received policy briefings from the Fair Trade Commission, the Ministry of Labor, and other agencies, President Lee instructed the Fair Trade Commission to strictly crack down on price manipulation, market manipulation, and other illegal market activities.
