Industrial computer giant Advantech (2395-TW) saw its stock price surge ahead of its earnings call this afternoon (5th), hitting the daily limit-up at NT$633 in early trading, setting a new all-time high. This momentum comes as the company reported record-breaking second-quarter profits and maintains an optimistic outlook for the second half, driven by strong demand for Edge AI.

Advantech's Q2 revenue reached NT$26.126 billion, up 28.16% quarter-on-quarter and 46.48% year-on-year. Net profit after tax hit NT$4.518 billion, up 35.50% QoQ and a remarkable 127.15% YoY, with earnings per share (EPS) at NT$5.20, a record high. For the first half of the year, revenue totaled NT$46.512 billion, up 32.18% YoY, while net profit reached NT$7.852 billion, up 66.25% YoY, with EPS at NT$9.05—also a record for the period.

The company reported a book-to-bill (B/B) ratio of 1.44 for Q2, indicating sustained strong demand. By region, the B/B ratios were 1.92 in North America, 1.25 in Europe, and 1.21 in China, reflecting robust end-market demand across key regions.

Looking ahead, Advantech expects Physical AI—AI systems with sensing, reasoning, and acting capabilities—to mature and become increasingly commercialized. Demand for Edge AI applications is expected to remain strong in the second half. The company plans to accelerate the adoption of Edge AI by integrating agent-based AI tools and Edge AI platforms through its WISE-Edge Developer Architecture (WEDA), strengthening global ecosystem partnerships to drive long-term operational growth.
