The Taiwanese stock market opened higher on July 7, reaching a peak gain of over 400 points. The weighted index turned from red to black, hitting a low of 44,109.88 points, down nearly 300 points. The final decline was narrowed, closing at 44,225.91 points, down 170.79 points or 0.38%, and the quarterly line was lost again, with a turnover of 8,192.04 points. In the first week of August, the market rose 1,106.16 points, with a weekly K-line closing in the red, up 2.57%.
