With the new stock restriction regime now officially in effect, the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) and GreTai Securities Market (TPEx) announced the first batch of 14 restricted stocks on August 10. The list includes nine listed stocks—Apacer* (6531-TW), United Components (3450-TW), Elite-Memory (3006), Masswell (3167-TW), United Jade (3450-TW), United Ming (6213-TW), Winson-KY (6451-TW), Apacer Metal-Creation (7610-TW), and Apex (8021-TW)—and five over-the-counter (OTC) stocks: Fu-Chi (3450-TW), United Biomedical (3081-TW), ChipMOS Probes (6217-TW), Etron (5351-TW), and IET-KY (4971-TW). These 14 stocks will be designated as restricted securities from August 11 to August 17, with trading matching intervals adjusted to every two minutes.
Among the nine listed stocks, Elite-Memory was placed under restriction due to a 44.48% cumulative closing price increase over the past six trading days, with a price difference of NT$77.5 between the sixth and second-to-last trading days. Jiou Syuan (2491-TW) was restricted after a 43.86% surge over the same period. Apacer* and Masswell were restricted due to a 33.89% cumulative gain and a closing price difference of NT$190 over six trading days.
The five OTC stocks—Fu-Chi, United Biomedical, ChipMOS Probes, Etron, and IET-KY—are also included in the restriction list. All 14 stocks will undergo the new two-minute trading interval rule until August 17.
Apacer* recently held its earnings briefing and reported record-breaking July revenue of NT$1.104 billion, driven by strong demand in the IoT RAM market and ongoing product portfolio optimization. The company projects multi-year revenue growth, potentially doubling in the coming years. Despite the positive outlook, Apacer*'s stock closed down 2.94% today.
Meanwhile, Elite-Memory, a major memory IC designer, benefited from a significant improvement in memory market supply-demand dynamics and strong price increases. Its July revenue reached NT$6.785 billion, up 40.02% month-on-month and 491.06% year-on-year—setting a new monthly record for the sixth consecutive month. Supported by six consecutive days of foreign institutional buying, Elite-Memory's stock rose 7.41% today.
