The Taiwan stock market has shaken off last week’s correction and shown strong rebound momentum. Today (10th), it continued its bullish trend, surging nearly 1,000 points in early trading to reclaim the 45,000-point level, signaling a gradual recovery in market confidence.
As market sentiment improves, institutional investors have shifted their positioning, with capital flooding into active ETFs. Notably, Uni-President’s 00403A and 00981A have become top picks, securing the first and second spots in last week’s institutional net-buying rankings.
Analyzing last week’s detailed institutional trading data, active ETFs occupied half of the top ten net-buying positions. The champion, Uni-President Upgrade 50 (00403A-TW), was heavily bought by institutions with a net purchase of 397,100 lots. The runner-up, Uni-President Taiwan Growth (00981A-TW), also saw strong demand, with over 220,800 lots net bought. Additionally, Fubon Tech Trend (00410A-TW) and Kai-Chi Taiwan (00407A-TW) recorded 146,700 and 134,900 lots respectively, indicating that active Taiwan equity ETFs have become the preferred vehicle for institutions to ride the market rebound.
Uni-President Asset Management’s research team noted that July’s market correction stemmed from profit-taking and deleveraging, driven by high base effects in U.S. cloud giants’ capital expenditures and market repricing of interest rate expectations. However, AI applications are evolving from generative to agentive AI, and TSMC’s order visibility extends to 2030, with the corporate earnings upgrade trend remaining intact.
Looking ahead, Uni-President’s research team recommends focusing on two key investment themes for 2026: first, supply chains in emerging technologies with low penetration rates—such as advanced process nodes, liquid cooling, and 800G switches; second, industries entering a price-up cycle, including memory, ABF/PCB.
