Passive component leaders Yageo (2327-TW) and Walsin Technology (2492-TW) announced their July revenue figures today (10). Yageo reported revenue of NT$16.131 billion, setting a new all-time monthly high, representing a 5% increase month-on-month and a 51.5% surge year-on-year. Walsin Technology recorded revenue of NT$4.443 billion, marking its highest level since October 2018—nearly eight years—up 12.2% month-on-month and 42% year-on-year.
Yageo’s cumulative revenue for the first seven months reached NT$98.753 billion, also the best in the same period, up 32.5% year-on-year. The company attributed the monthly growth to sustained strong demand from AI-related applications, with steady growth observed in both standard and specialty products, along with mild expansion across various product applications.
Yageo stated that the electronics component industry is undergoing structural transformation driven by rising AI application demand. Despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainties, customer inventory levels remain healthy, and the company will flexibly adjust operations to mitigate the impact of tariff policies and currency fluctuations.
Walsin Technology’s year-to-date revenue totaled NT$25.372 billion, the second-highest in history, up 18.7% year-on-year. Chairman Jason Jiao noted that recent order inflows have been strong and steadily increasing, with excellent visibility. Amid rising costs and tight supply-demand conditions, price increases for products are “inevitable.”
CEO Ming-Tsai Tseng added that the company’s book-to-bill (BB) ratio has exceeded 1.8 over the past two to three months, up from the previous 1.4 level. Average order visibility stands at six months, extending longer for AI customers. Current demand for capacitors and resistors remains robust, and the company will continue to expand production capacity accordingly.
