According to the latest report from market research firm Smart Analytics Global (SAG), global humanoid robot shipments in the first half of 2024 totaled approximately 19,100 units—up nearly 300% from 5,100 units during the same period last year. Chinese manufacturers secured over 97% of the market share, extending their lead from 84.7% in 2025.
Data shows that Shanghai Agibot shipped 8,400 units in the first half of 2024, capturing 44% of the global market and surpassing Unitree Technology to take the number one position for the first time. Unitree followed with 5,900 units and a 30.9% market share. Together, the two companies accounted for more than 70% of the global market, while U.S. players such as Tesla, Figure AI, and Agility Robotics remained significantly behind in shipment volumes.
Linda Sui, founder of SAG, noted that industrial and commercial applications accounted for over 70% of shipments in the first half of 2024, up from around 50% a year earlier—indicating that humanoid robots are transitioning from demonstration and R&D phases to actual deployment.
SAG also forecasts that global humanoid robot shipments will surge to 60,000 units in 2024, surpassing 500,000 units by 2030.
At this year’s World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai, dozens of Chinese companies showcased advancements in dexterity and mobility speed, demonstrating their mass production capabilities under strong policy and financial support.
However, geopolitical risks are simultaneously rising. On July 28, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) added foreign-produced advanced humanoid and quadruped robots to its “Covered List,” citing risks to critical infrastructure and cybersecurity. New models of Chinese-made robots will generally be denied equipment authorization, effectively banning their import.
Analysts believe that China’s comprehensive advantages in supply chain, cost, and scale of application scenarios are difficult to shake in the short term. However, tightening U.S. market access will force Chinese manufacturers to accelerate deployments in commercial and industrial factories across Europe, Asia, and domestically. Regulatory uncertainty and geopolitical variables have now become new factors affecting the next phase of industry scaling.
