Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo announced his marriage to girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez on the early hours of the 12th, posting photos of their wedding rings on his Instagram with the caption: 'C❤️G', officially sharing the joyful news. The couple has reportedly held their wedding ceremony in Portugal.
According to AFP, Brunswick Group, which handles Ronaldo's public relations, stated that all five of the couple's children attended the private and intimate wedding.
Prior to the World Cup, Ronaldo revealed in an interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan that he wished to fulfill his dream of winning the tournament before holding a wedding ceremony.
However, Portugal was eliminated in the Round of 16, losing 0–1 to Spain, ending Ronaldo's final World Cup campaign prematurely.
Sources indicated that Ronaldo was concerned that holding the wedding immediately after the World Cup might give the impression of celebrating during a sensitive time, failing to achieve the perfect ceremonial feeling he desired. After discussing with Georgina, they decided to postpone the wedding.
Ronaldo and Rodriguez first met in 2016 at a luxury boutique, where she worked as a Gucci sales associate. In January 2017, Ronaldo introduced Rodriguez at the FIFA annual awards gala, publicly confirming their relationship.
In November 2017, Rodriguez gave birth to their daughter, Martina. In October 2021, Ronaldo announced that Rodriguez was expecting twins. However, in April 2022, while daughter Bella was born healthy, their son tragically passed away during childbirth. In August 2025, Rodriguez shared a diamond ring on social media, announcing their engagement.
In July 2026, foreign media reported the couple's wedding invitations, claiming the ceremony would take place on August 1. Later, Ronaldo's sister responded, stating the wedding date had not yet been finalized.
