AI and high-performance computing (HPC) are driving sustained growth in demand for test interfaces. Chen Shao-Kun, Executive Vice President of Winsonics (6515-TW), stated at the SEMICON press conference today (12th) that, as August has already begun, the overall order situation for this year is largely settled. Most companies in the industry have their production capacity nearly 'fully booked' through year-end. Looking ahead to 2027 and the next two to three years, there are currently no negative signals indicating weakening demand across wafer testing, test interfaces, and related supporting equipment.

Chen noted that AI-related demand has remained strong throughout this year. As the year progresses into the second half, customer demand and capacity planning have become increasingly clear. Currently, nearly all companies in the industry have their remaining capacity close to full, with order visibility extending through year-end.

Looking toward next year, Winsonics is already seeing a growing number of new customer projects, particularly in AI-related applications, which remain the primary growth driver. As chip performance improves and packaging complexity increases, testing difficulty and the value of test interfaces are rising in tandem, prompting continued expansion across the supply chain.

Winsonics further anticipates that, over the longer term—extending to 2027 and beyond—wafer testing, test interfaces, and related supporting technologies will continue to thrive. At present, no adverse signals have emerged.

Regarding the rapid surge in AI demand that previously strained production capacity and supply chains, Chen acknowledged that market demand 'came quickly and intensely,' creating challenges in capacity allocation as companies scrambled to meet sudden high demand. However, through continuous capacity expansion, production process optimization, and solution development over recent months, the industry has gradually gained better control over managing rapid growth, and bottlenecks are being progressively resolved.

Winsonics believes market demand has not diminished due to supply constraints. Instead, the supply chain is gradually establishing new response models. With AI chips undergoing faster iterations, increasing per-chip value, and growing test complexity, demand for test interfaces is expected to remain strong. The company maintains a positive outlook on the industry's prospects beyond 2027.
