U.S. inflation in July showed signs of cooling, significantly reinforcing market expectations that the Federal Reserve will keep interest rates unchanged in September. Fueled by this positive development and strong leadership from AI infrastructure and memory-related stocks, overseas ETFs listed in Taiwan rallied today (13th). Among them, Uni-President Global Innovation (00988A-TW) stood out, surging over 4% at the opening and currently ranking first among all ETFs in terms of gains.

According to intraday data from San-Chu Information, overseas ETFs launched a strong rebound at market open. Uni-President's 00988A led the charge with an early 4.06% spike; actively managed Yuanta AI New Economy (00990A-TW) followed closely with gains exceeding 4%, securing second place. Other notable performers include CTBC Japan Semiconductor (00954-TW) and Taishin Japan Semiconductor (00951-TW).

The research team at Uni-President Asset Management noted that July's CPI came in below expectations without signs of second-round inflation, while employment softened but the broader economy remains stable—favorable conditions for risk assets. The probability of the Fed holding rates steady through year-end is now considered highest. So far, 88% of S&P 500 companies have reported earnings, with overall EPS exceeding forecasts by 29.2%, marking the strongest performance since 2008.

On investment strategy, they recommend overweighting software supply chains benefiting from accelerated AI monetization, as well as advanced packaging and power management sectors. Meanwhile, profit-taking is advised for sectors where price momentum is slowing.
