In recent years, executives of financial institutions and prominent financial figures have frequently become targets of fraudulent impersonation, with increasingly sophisticated methods. Recently, malicious actors have been using the name and image of the Chairman of the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE), and even leveraging AI deepfake technology to create fake audio and video content, to promote investment groups on platforms such as LINE and Facebook.

TWSE has issued a strong clarification stating that neither the Chairman nor any employees have established or operated any investment groups. The exchange emphasizes that the Chairman has never created a Facebook fan page, LINE official account, or any other social media profile for investment solicitation purposes. Furthermore, TWSE and its staff do not use social media, messaging apps, or investment groups to recommend individual stocks, solicit investments, guarantee profits, or request personal information, bank account details, or money transfers.

The exchange urges the public to exercise extreme caution. If there are any doubts about the authenticity of messages claiming to be from TWSE or its personnel, individuals should contact the TWSE Investor Service Center directly at (02) 2792-8188 or verify through the official TWSE public mailbox. In cases of suspected fraud, the public is encouraged to report the incident with supporting evidence to the 165 Anti-Fraud Hotline, the 165 Anti-Fraud Dashboard, or local police authorities to help prevent financial fraud and protect personal assets.
