MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International) announced its latest quarterly index rebalancing early on August 13 (Taiwan time), adding Tayo (6274-TW) to the Taiwan large-cap index. Meanwhile, Jinju (8358-TW) and DaLiang Technology (3167-TW) were newly included in the MSCI Taiwan Small Cap Index, highlighting the rising market importance of upstream materials and consumables in the PCB industry driven by strong AI-related high-speed transmission demand.
Furthermore, since 2026, MSCI has successively added Qunyi (6664-TW) and Taimex (8039-TW) to the small-cap index, following earlier inclusions of Apex (8021-TW), a PCB micro-drill bit manufacturer and drilling service provider, and Fu-Chiow (1815-TW), an integrated fiberglass producer. The latest announcement includes Tayo, a CCL (copper-clad laminate) manufacturer, in the Taiwan large-cap index, and adds Jinju, a copper foil producer, and DaLiang Technology, a manufacturer of laser drilling equipment, to the small-cap index.
Notably, Apex was also added today to the Norwegian Government Pension Fund Global (GPFG) index.
MSCI conducts index weight and constituent adjustments four times a year—in February, May, August, and November. The May and November reviews are semi-annual, while February and August are quarterly adjustments. The latest changes will take effect after the market close on August 31.
