Winstron (2392-TW) reported a dramatic surge in Q2 earnings, with non-operating income significantly boosting its quarterly EPS to 13.02 TWD, ending four consecutive quarters of losses. For the first half of the year, EPS reached 12.56 TWD, propelling the stock to a volume-heavy涨停 at 43.05 TWD on Friday, reclaiming the yearly moving average.
Winstron's Q2 revenue was 17.641 billion TWD, down 13.03% quarter-on-quarter and 17.45% year-on-year. Gross margin stood at 4.23%, down 15.08 percentage points QoQ but up 21.94 percentage points YoY. Operating loss was 1.351 billion TWD—wider than the previous quarter but 77% improved from the same period last year. Net profit after tax reached 6.024 billion TWD.
Although Winstron's core business weakened in Q2, non-operating income reached 7.867 billion TWD. Notably, its subsidiary Power Channel Limited disposed of 14.532 million shares in its investee Sinno Data (300857-CN), generating over 10 billion TWD in profit, significantly boosting Winstron's non-operating performance.
For the first half of the year, Winstron's revenue totaled 37.925 billion TWD, down 11.29% YoY. Gross margin improved to 12.30%, up 13.64 percentage points YoY. Operating profit was 674 million TWD, with an operating margin of 1.78%, turning positive from the same period last year. Net profit after tax was 5.814 billion TWD, reversing to profit YoY.
