According to sources, at least five grain vessels were attacked near Russia’s Black Sea ports of Novorossiysk and Tuapse, as Moscow faces growing challenges in maintaining grain exports following Ukraine’s intensified attacks.

Russia and Ukraine have escalated mutual attacks on commercial ships and ports in the Black Sea region, sparking concerns over global food supplies. Together, the two countries account for more than a quarter of global wheat exports, and the attacks coincide with this year’s harvest season.

This marks the first confirmed instance of grain vessels serving affected Russian ports being directly targeted. As increasing shipowners express concern over the risks of docking at Russian ports, Moscow has sought to downplay the impact of the attacks.

Sources said four vessels were attacked on Tuesday morning. A fifth vessel was struck on Monday, according to other reports.
