Touch panel manufacturer TPK-KY (3673-TW) is scheduled to hold its earnings call tomorrow (21st). Amid the company's aggressive push into semiconductor-related businesses, investor buying surged today (20th), driving the stock price to hit the daily upper limit of NT$65.4 in early trading. The share price rose above both the 5-day and 10-day moving averages, maintaining a gain of over 7% despite broad market weakness. Trading volume more than tripled compared to the previous day.
Since the beginning of the year, TPK-KY has included the financial results of Ili Technology, which it acquired, in its consolidated revenue. Revenue from semiconductor businesses, including driver ICs, now accounts for approximately 22% of total revenue, becoming a key growth pillar alongside its core touch panel operations. With notebook PC market restocking trends emerging, overall market conditions are expected to stabilize and improve in the second half of the year. The company anticipates steady full-year operations with slight year-on-year revenue growth.
Regarding niche new businesses and advanced technology development, the company's 3D printing operations have maintained modest profitability this year, contributing about 2% to 3% of total revenue. Collaborations with major sportswear brands have expanded from single components to full product innovation. Advanced packaging and TGV (Through-Glass Via) glass via technology are currently in the R&D and customer design integration verification phase.
