According to a report by the Russian news channel on the 19th (Wednesday), Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated that the country has started importing fuel and implemented necessary regulations permitting the production of certain low-emission grade fuels.

Previously, several countries expressed willingness to supply fuel to Russia to alleviate the shortage situation.

On July 2, Interfax reported that Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy said it is prepared to supply fuel to Russia if an official request is received, provided that domestic supply is secured.

India's Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, also stated that India may supply fuel to Russia if needed.

Since late May, fuel supply tensions have emerged across various regions in Russia, leading to rising prices, purchase limits at gas stations, and long queues.

To stabilize the market, the Russian government announced on July 8 that diesel exports would be banned from that date until July 31.

On July 30, the Russian government proposed a new temporary export ban prohibiting the export of gasoline, diesel, marine fuel, and light gas oil from August 1, 2023, to January 31, 2027.
