Unprecedented! Iranian Hackers Successfully Cripple UK Power Plant

Iran has carried out an unprecedented cyberattack that forced a UK power plant to cease operations for four full days, marking the first time hackers linked to Iran have successfully disabled a British power facility.

UK officials, citing security concerns, have declined to disclose which power plant was affected. The facility is relatively small, and its shutdown did not impact the UK's overall electricity supply or energy production.

The UK government has briefed chief executives of power companies and issued notifications to businesses, providing advice, directives, and next steps.

This incident coincides with a series of cyberattacks last month on US water infrastructure, which affected 12 states and prompted concern from the White House.

According to a report by the UK's Daily Telegraph on the 22nd (last Saturday), the attack on the UK power plant was unlikely intended to affect civilians, but rather aimed to demonstrate that 'hackers linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps are capable of infiltrating UK systems.'
