The Settlement Institute continues to strengthen its fund trading platform by introducing the 'An-Yang Trust Service,' which officially launched on August 24. By integrating the fund trading platform with banks' trust services, investors can now more flexibly utilize their existing fund assets, further enhancing retirement financial planning, elder care, and posthumous asset arrangements, offering more diverse and convenient options for long-term asset management.
Lin Bing-Hui, Chairman of the Settlement Institute, stated that in the past, fund holdings purchased by investors through sales institutions on the fund trading platform were legally registered under the name of the sales institution, and thus could not be transferred via book-entry to investors' trust accounts like general securities.
The newly introduced An-Yang Trust System function eliminates the current limitation requiring investors to 'first redeem funds for cash, then deliver cash to trust.' This service not only saves investors from repeatedly processing fund redemptions, cash transfers, and re-subscriptions—reducing additional transaction costs—but also reduces the operational burden on asset management companies handling subscription and redemption tasks, further increasing public willingness to use funds as a long-term retirement preparation vehicle.
Lin emphasized that all sales institutions on the Settlement Institute's fund trading platform can now use this service to directly collaborate deeply with banks, enabling them to integrate and provide one-stop An-Yang Trust services for clients, effectively improving the efficiency of retirement asset utilization and creating a win-win financial ecosystem.
Amid growing aging population and increasing demand for retirement planning, this service is not only a technological upgrade of the lifelong financial policy but also a concrete implementation of the Settlement Institute's ongoing efforts to promote digital innovation in financial services and improve the financial asset custody platform. Going forward, the Institute will continue to collaborate with financial industry partners to build more efficient and flexible digital public services, helping citizens securely plan their retirement lives and future asset arrangements.
