First Bank and Land Bank successfully concluded the signing of a NT$7.2 billion syndicated loan for Chang Wah (6548-TW) on August 25. The loan was jointly led by First Bank and Land Bank as mandated lead arrangers. With strong support from financial peers, the loan achieved 1.45 times oversubscription, clearly demonstrating the banking consortium’s high confidence in Chang Wah’s business prospects and strategic direction. The loan proceeds will be used to repay existing financial liabilities and strengthen mid-term working capital, enabling Chang Wah to enhance financial flexibility and continue advancing its global production footprint and technological upgrades.
Chang Wah is a global leader in specialized IC lead frames, primarily manufacturing package lead frames using advanced processes such as stamping, etching, and electroplating. These are widely applied in consumer electronics, industrial control, and automotive electronics. Facing the wave of emerging technologies, Chang Wah has actively expanded into high-growth application markets such as AI server power management, robotics, and low-orbit satellites in recent years. Simultaneously, the company is advancing expansion plans at its production bases in Taiwan and Malaysia to meet the upgrading demands of the global semiconductor industry. Benefiting from semiconductor market recovery and optimized product mix, Chang Wah delivered strong financial performance in Q2 of 2026, with consolidated revenue reaching NT$4.315 billion—the highest quarterly revenue in company history—demonstrating robust momentum with simultaneous growth in revenue and profitability.
Moreover, Chang Wah has consecutively ranked in the top 5% of the GreTai Securities Market’s Corporate Governance Assessment for two years, highlighting its excellence in shareholder rights protection, board effectiveness, and ESG sustainability governance. Notably, this syndicated loan, facilitated by First Bank, is the first to incorporate sustainability performance indicators—such as greenhouse gas emission intensity, energy management, water recycling rate, waste reuse rate, and corporate governance assessment—into the credit framework, guiding and encouraging the company to accelerate its low-carbon transition and sustainable development.
First Bank has long actively supported the government’s credit policy for five trusted industries: semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), defense, security, and next-generation communications. In the first half of this year, the bank achieved outstanding results in the syndicated loan market, serving as mandated lead arranger for multiple key AI and semiconductor-related loans, ranking among the top two in both MLA and Bookrunner league tables. First Bank and its parent, First Financial Holding, have also deeply committed to ESG initiatives, receiving Taiwan’s Sustainable Action Award for five consecutive years. This year, First Bank serves as the rotating chair of the Financial Supervisory Commission’s 'Sustainable Finance Pioneers Alliance,' and will continue leveraging its financial influence to support the semiconductor supply chain in deepening sustainability and resilience.
